Ingredients
- Methi leaves - 2 cups
- Wheat flour - 2 cups
- Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- Chilli powder - 1 heaped tbsp
- Coriander powder - 1 heaped tbsp
- Cumin seeds - 1 heaped tbsp
- Yogurt - 1/2 cup
- Salt - to taste
- Oil or ghee - 1/4 cup Plus for tawa
- Add all the ingredients in a bowl and using warm water knead into a soft dough, make into the small round size balls, and keep aside for 30mins.
- For rolling the parathas
- Flour the rolling area. Sprinkle flour over the balls.
- Roll it to an even-sized paratha, slightly thicker than roti. Finish making the parathas. place them aside in a dry place or you can prepare one at a time as well.
- Frying methi roti
- Heat a Tawa, when hot place the paratha and allow to cook for a few minutes. when you see the bubbles, flip it to the other side and cook.
- Smear ghee or oil over the paratha.
- Serve hot with any gravy or kurma even a pickle or raita goes well with parathas.
